“I started working at a young age”

Born in 1992 in Bakırköy, Akça is originally from Kastamonu but was born and raised in Istanbul. Akça, who said, “Since my family's business life was based on tradesmanship, started working from a young age and being in touch with the people of Istanbul, which is a mosaic as a whole, has been a part of my life since childhood”. During his student life, Bezmiâlem Vakıf University Faculty of Pharmacy Student Representative, Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Pharmacists Association Youth Commission, Chairman of the Founding Board of Farma Aktüel Pharmacy Club, Responsible for Health, Culture and Sports of Bezmiâlem Vakıf University Founding Student Council, and President of Bezmiâlem Vakıf University Founding Clubs Association. He had a very active student life by coming with elections. In 2014, while he was still a student, he served as the founding general secretary of the "Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Association" (EIDER) in order to "bring together the stakeholders of the pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry and offer them all the services they deserve". He and his older brother Tahsin Akça, who is a veterinarian, established a company called “Nativital”, which works in the field of standardized medicinal herbal extracts and oils, in 2017. The company is still operating in İkitelli Organized Industrial Zone.

“When the finals were over, I would breathe in the lab”

“Entrepreneurship in professional life is actually a subject that we cannot evaluate alone. Entrepreneurship; We can divide them into three as entrepreneurship in students, entrepreneurship in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and entrepreneurship in professional life,” said Akça and told the establishment story of Nativital as follows: “As a student who spent the first two stages of entrepreneurship, namely entrepreneurship in studentship and NGO, Before starting my professional life, I started to work voluntarily in the Pharmacognosy Laboratory at the faculty, apart from the lessons. I spent my summers working voluntarily in faculty laboratories. Finals would be over, the next day I would go to the faculty and continue working in the laboratory. I recommend that all of our fellow students apply this three-stage entrepreneurship issue to themselves while they are at the faculty.”

“My active studentship has greatly contributed to my career”

Noting that his active and active student life contributed greatly to his professional career, Akça said, “I would recommend all of our fellow students to have an active student life. During my education at the Faculty of Pharmacy, besides the more than 100 domestic and international professional activities I was involved in as a participant or organizer; I took part in the work of many associations and non-governmental organizations. Studies like these provide students with social capital. Congress, fair, etc. I recommend to attend all events. I recommend them not only to participate, but also to be part of the organization team that takes responsibility for these events. Such an active student life is one of the main elements that will shed light on your professional life after graduation.”
