Spokesperson Wang Wenbin gave information about the 3rd Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum to be held in Beijing in October at a press conference. Stating that the preparatory work for the forum is continuing regularly, Wang Wenbin stated that representatives of more than 130 countries as well as many international organizations have confirmed their participation in the forum.
This year's forum will be held after a four-year break. Lastly, leaders from 40 countries and international organizations attended the event held in 2019. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), first proposed by Xi Jinping in 2013, has generated more than 3,000 cooperation projects and mobilized nearly $1 trillion in investment over the past decade, according to Wang. More than 150 countries and more than 30 international organizations have signed cooperation documents with China under the BRI.
