Before the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), which will be held at TUYAP on July 25th and 28th, Roketsan shared the technologies it will exhibit at the fair with the press. At the press conference held in a hotel in Beşiktaş, while introducing the mobile air defense system 'BURÇ' for the first time, other technologies developed by Roketsan and its targets in the coming years were also mentioned. Roketsan Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Faruk Yiğit stated that Roketsan has made a very serious move to increase its capacity in recent years and stated that it will at least double its 35-year capacity in 2024.

Speaking at the press conference, Roketsan Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Faruk Yiğit said, “Roketsan exhibits its products after reaching certain levels. We have about 40 products that we haven't announced yet. Roketsan has been making a serious move to increase its capacity in recent years. Hopefully, in 2024, Roketsan will have at least doubled its 35-year capacity. Thus, there will be no bottleneck in meeting the needs of both our country and friendly and allied countries. As of 2022, Roketsan's turnover has reached approximately 850 million dollars. Roketsan has more than 4,500 employees. We proudly say this everywhere. Roketsan spends approximately $800 million on infrastructure in different cities.

Roketsan Board Member and General Manager Murat Second said, “We consider 2023 as the year of exports and investments. We are making a great effort to increase our exports and production capacity. At the same time, there are nearly 40 R&D projects carried out by Roketsan within itself. None of these are projects announced by the press or the public. When the prototypes of the projects before the first production phase are successful, we share these projects with our people. The first of these will be the BURÇ Close Air Defense System. Sungur is a mobile defense system focused on the machine gun, which can also protect the offensive troops, especially against the increasing drone threats today. Hopefully, we will continue to serve both our country and friendly and brotherly countries by walking together with our engineers at Roketsan for many more years to come."

At the meeting, the technical features of the Mobile Air Defense System 'BURÇ' were explained. 8 SUNGUR Air Defense Missiles on 2 quadruple pods were used as the main weapon in the Mobile Air Defense System BURÇ, which was developed with Roketsan's own resources to be used in the air defense of mobile-fixed units and facilities in the battlefield and in the rear area. BURÇ was equipped with 20 mm 3-Barrel Ammunition as an auxiliary weapon. The system, which has 4 AESA Hemisphere Defense Radar, provides a full perimeter safety net with its 360-degree turret rotation capability. In addition to providing data communication with command and control networks with the JREAP-C protocol, it can be integrated with the Air Defense Early Warning and Command Control System [HERİKKS-6] interface and the Friend-Foe Recognition [IFF] Equipment.

It has an effective range of 8 kilometers and a minimum of 500 meters.

The system, which provides protection against fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), has a maximum effective range of 8 kilometers and a minimum of 500 meters with SUNGUR and the ability to reach an altitude of 4 kilometers. It has been announced that the system, which is capable of detecting and tracking more than one target at a 360-degree angle, has high mobility in difficult terrain conditions.
