QR'S THAT FIGHT ALZHEIMER

Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disease that affects millions of people worldwide and is associated with old age. However, it can rarely occur at younger ages. The disease manifests itself with symptoms such as memory loss, decreased cognitive abilities and difficulty in daily living activities. LifeClub, a company of Acıbadem Health Group, which provides holistic health management services with a preventive medicine approach, signed the 'QRs Fighting Alzheimer's' campaign in September, which is accepted as Alzheimer's month by the whole world. The campaign was designed with the theme of "forgetting where to park your vehicle in the parking lot", which is one of the first symptoms of Alzheimer's. QR codes were placed on the parking columns of Acıbadem Hospitals, allowing vehicle owners to easily find their vehicle locations by scanning these codes with their phones. After the QR code was scanned, the owner of the vehicle was shown the location of the parking column where the vehicle was located, with a message raising awareness for Alzheimer's. It is often confused with signs of aging Elif Elkin, General Manager of LifeClub Health Services, pointed out that Alzheimer's figures are worrying for the future: "According to World Health Organization (WHO) data, there are more than 55 million Alzheimer's patients in the world and this number will increase by 2050 due to the emergence of approximately 10 million new cases every year." It is expected to increase to 139 million. We think that Alzheimer's disease should be understood more consciously in society, for our mothers, fathers, all our elders, and perhaps for ourselves in the future. Symptoms of forgetfulness caused by Alzheimer's can generally be considered as a natural consequence of old age. Thus, the disease cannot be noticed by the patient's relatives. At this point, it should be remembered that especially in people over the age of 65, when there are symptoms such as difficulty remembering newly learned information, repeating the same topics or questions, and not being able to remember recently experienced situations, the patient's relatives should consult a neurologist without delay.” Purpose: Drawing Attention to Alzheimer's and Emphasizing Early Diagnosis Elif Elkin said the following about the 'QRs Fighting Alzheimer's' awareness campaign: "As awareness about Alzheimer's increases in society, it may be possible to direct people who show symptoms to treatment and help. As LifeClub, on our journey with the motto of Goodness, Health, we launched the 'QRs that Fight Alzheimer's' campaign in order to draw attention to Alzheimer's disease and to enable people to diagnose this disease early with periodic check-ups.
