Eyelid aesthetics is a set of surgical operations performed as a result of aging and the tissues around the eyes do not stay tight. Many points can be corrected by performing multiple surgeries.
This type of surgery is the whole of the aesthetic work done around our eyes, where we provide our vision. In this context, many surgical operations such as drooping eyelids (drooping), crow's feet, droopy eyebrows, and under-eye bags are performed.
Recently, eyelid sagging surgeries have been preferred a lot within the scope of eye aesthetics. This problem, also known as blepharoplasty, is resolved in a very short time frame.
What is eyelid drooping?
This name is given to the type of drooping on our eye that causes some or all of the eye to be closed. This lid, which is responsible for protecting our eyes against external factors, shows itself especially with aging. The eyelid, which does not stay tight as in the youth period, is pulled down over time and comes to the eye. This makes people uncomfortable.
There is no specific season for eyelid surgery. There is no difference between the summer months or the winter months in terms of the success of the surgery and the healing process. The only important issue is that we recommend not to swim in the sea and pool for approximately 1 month after the operation. Summer months are more preferred for surgery. Because resting for 1 week after the surgery and applying ice provides a quick recovery.
Will there be any scars after the operation?
Stitches are removed 1 week after eyelid surgery and scars appear at first. When 1 month is up, we prescribe special scarring creams. We recommend our patients to use these creams for 3-4 months. In addition, using sunscreen on the stitch scar provides protection not only from the sun, but also from all UV rays.
Can brow lift surgery be performed together with eyelid surgery?
In some of our patients, another contribution to the droopy eyelid is the drooping of the eyebrows. When the fat layer under the eyebrow shrinks with age and the eyebrow area goes down with the effect of gravity, the eyelid droops more. Eyelid surgery alone will not be enough in these patients. Additional eyebrow lifting surgery will also correct the eyebrow disorder and provide a more accurate and more aesthetic appearance. For this reason, we recommend brow lift surgery along with upper eyelid surgery to our patients.
